Direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation for coprime array, which promises an enlarged array aperture and enhanced degrees-of-freedom (DOFs), is expected to operate on a single snapshot of the derived coprime coarray that contains holes. In this paper, we propose a coprime array DOA estimation algorithm that is based on the single-snapshot direct data domain (D3) approach, where DOAs are estimated from both the nonuniform samples of the coprime coarray, and the interpolated samples of the holes. Simulation results demonstrate the advantages of the proposed algorithm in achievable DOFs, estimation accuracy and computational complexity.
