Entrepreneurship along the New Silk Road : BUSINESS CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES IN THE ONE BELT ONE ROAD INITIATIVE

This paper explores the opportunities that arise from the developments of the Belt and Road Initiative, otherwise called ‘One Belt One Road’ (OBOR) Initiative. The OBOR is sometimes called the new Silk Road, following from the historical Silk Road that formed the prosperity of nations ‘on the Road’ from China to the rest of the known world.This paper will give a background to the OBOR, highlight current developments, scope out opportunities for economic integration, policy issues, management challenges and technological enhancement, impact on education, as well as identify possible pitfalls; and highlight activities and opportunities that exist for entrepreneurs to benefit from this global initiative.
