Technology Complementarity and Collaborative Innovation: The Moderating Effects of IT Adoption

This paper studies the influence of technology complementarity between partners on firm’s collaborative innovation, as well as the boundary condition of that relationship. We test our hypotheses using partial least squares (PLS). The results show that both technology complementarity relates positively to firm’s collaborative innovation. Our results also indicate that IT adoption has significant moderating role on the effects technology complementarity. Our research has important implications for research in collaborative innovation.
