Knowledge Stock, Competition Orientation and Latecomer Firms’ Attention to Emerging Technologies

Based on the company's attention-based view, this paper takes the Chinese A-share listed companies in the computer and communication industry in 2012-2017 as a sample to explore the impact of the late-stage enterprise knowledge stock and competition-oriented attention on its emerging technologies. The empirical results show that the knowledge stock is negatively related to the company's attention to emerging technologies; enterprises with cost-oriented firms as the rules of action will pay less attention to emerging technologies. This study has important theoretical and practical significance for clarifying the determinants of the emerging technology attention distribution of late-developing enterprises
