The continuous Doherty power amplifier (DPA) design is presented in this paper. Two 10-Watts Cree GaN devices are employed to design the continuous DPA. The measured results show that the continuous DPA achieves a power-added efficiency (PAE) of 40%-70% at the peak power and a PAE higher than 35% at the 6-dB output power back-off (OPBO) point in the frequency range from 0.5 GHz to 1.1 GHz. Compared with balanced Class-AB power amplifier (PA), the implemented continuous DPA is improved about 5% in PAE.
