摘要

Fretting fatigue tests were conducted in a modified contact pad set up so that crack can initiate from observation area. Using laser microscope in-situ observation of top surface of specimen was done. After detection of the crack, crack length, crack growth rate and its interaction with fretting wear can be understood. Crack growth rate in stable and unstable region can be helpful in determining maintenance periodicity. Wear analysis of contact area can also be explored in future work.
