摘要

With increase in strength and hardness, metallic materials become more susceptible to fatigue crack initiation at defects such as scratches, punch marks, insufficient surface finish and environmentally induced surface flaws (e.g. corrosion pits). But also small inherent defects such as non- metallic inclusions and precipitates can become critical in high-strength materials.
