LEBEDEV'S METHOD FOR THE DETERMINATION OF LIMITS OF ENDURANCE OF METAL UNDER CONDITIONS OF CYCLIC LOAD BY LEVEL OF CUMULATIVE DAMAGES

A method for the determination of the limit of endurance of metal under conditions of cyclic load by level of cumulative damages includes operations of testing specimens of metal at different levels of stresses, recording of parameters of investigation of specimens by which one determines the limit of endurance of metal of construction. After testing specimens as to destruction one carries out tests of each destroyed specimen for hardness, by the results of those one determines the level of cumulative distributed damages of metal, and as the limit of endurance of metal of construction one takes the least of realized values of stress of the cycle by which under conditions of prolongation of working-on damage propagation is not observed.
