The interactions between mercury and coexisting ions in batch process of FO was investigated. The coexisting ions, including halogens, sulphur compounds and macromolecular compounds were added in the feed solution to interact with Hg. The result indicated that the contemporary existence draw salt (NaCl and MgCl_2) and S_2O_3~(2-) contributed the Hg rejection, and the coexisting halogen and sulphates ions can mitigate the Hg mass loss.
