Compared with wet-milled SPAC, dry-milled SPAC removed MIB at a lower rate because dry-milled SPAC aggregated more severely and had lower adsorption capacity. Pore diffusion and fractal aggregation models successfully described MIB removal. Dry-milled SPAC was more predisposed to disaggregation than wet-milled SPAC. The high disaggregation tendency was due to a high negative surface charge.
