Understanding the Impact of Cannon Processing Equipment on the Quality of Appliance Foam Made With Honeywell Solstice® Liquid Blowing Agent (LBA)

This paper compares the physical and thermal insulation properties of rigid polyurethane appliance foams containing Solstice Liquid Blowing Agent (LBA) produced using different blowing agent addition techniques, including direct injection into the mixhead using both axial and radial mixing technologies. Molded foams were produced using a high-pressure foam machine, and full physical properties were developed on the foams produced using these different blowing agent addition techniques. This information will be invaluable to the foam producer in engineering the optimal foam processing equipment to meet their needs as they transition to Solstice® blowing agent technology.
