In accordance with the Refinery Sector Rule on Benzene Fenceline Monitoring, all refineries are now monitoring for Benzene around the perimeter of their facility. This presentation covers the most recent updates to the method as well as data from a refinery during their pilot study and some lessons learned through their process. Alternative Test Method (ATM-122), regarding Method 325, was approved in September 2017 and more recently, amendments were proposed in March 2018. We will review both the ATM-122 as well as the proposed amendments and what they mean for refineries. A refinery located in the Northeast United States ran a pilot study in the Fall/Winter of 2017 and gained an incredible amount of data. During the pilot They 3 separate laboratories were utilized and lessons learned while out in the field. During this presentation, the actual data, laboratory comparison and lessons learned will be shared.
