Steel Shaft Liner Plate Segments

Design for water-tight, shaft support structures using commonly implemented methods and materials is possible. The spider pile steel segments use simple flat sheet piles that interlock together, along with DSI standard spiders that are lowered into a slurry wall excavation. Once all the sheet piles are installed, then the concrete wall is placed through the tremie method. The result is a shaft that is water-tight and can safely support the anticipated soil, water and surcharge loads. Contractors are familiar with the products and DSI believes that the overall cost of the installed structure will be competitive with current methodology and ultimately safe for all involved.
