Contract No. 3 was awarded to Jaiprakash-Hyundai Consortium (Jaiprakash Associates Limited as leader and HYUNDAI Engineering & Construction Company Ltd., Korea as Consortium Partner) in July 1993, which included, besides civil works relating to pressure shafts, underground powerhouse complex, tailrace tunnel, etc., the fabrication, transportation, erection and testing of steel liners for pressure shafts.
