1. Measurable current imbalance measured on both 1S30P and 1S4P lithium-ion cell arrays at UTA and NRL, respectively 2. Current imbalance is measured from start to finish, even when cells are carefully binned into matched parallel arrays 3. Data suggests that a lack of monitoring in high parallel count arrays results in the inability to detect pending cell end of life 4. Results at both UTA and NRL have shown that low C EIS and DC-ESR measurements are not good metrics for binning cells 5. It is speculated that the imbalance in cell SoC may induce higher stress on certain cells 6. There is no smoking gun that indicates what causes the imbalance or that it leads to severe uneven aging.
