Changes in the Geographic Distribution of the Need for Food/Meal Services in Cuyahoga County, Ohio

These estimates strongly suggest that the need for food/meal assistance in the county has both grown and geographically shifted for at least the last 10 to 15 years. While poverty and other indicators of need continue to be concentrated in Cleveland, indicators of need continue to grow in the suburbs of Cleveland. The distribution of food resources in Cuyahoga County is now somewhat less well suited than previously to the meet the changing geographic distribution of persons and families in need. Though decisions about limited resources are difficult, the trend of both deepening and geographic expansion of this need argues for some adjustment to the geographic distribution of food/meal assistance resources.
