Polarimetric Angle Utilization for Grasping State of Damaged Bridge

摘要

Disaster area monitoring is one of the most important applications in PolSAR data utilization. In this paper, we propose a novel usage of polarimetric orientation angle shift to grasp state of bridge under severe disaster situation due to a heavy rain or an earthquake. We carry out polarimetric scattering measurement for a simple scaled bridge model (girder bridge model) with/without damage, to acquire quad-polarimetric SAR data. It is verified from the result of the PolSAR image analysis for the measured data that the polarimetric angle shift is a useful indicator for distinguishing the healthy and damaged bridge models.
