Proof-of-concept for a novel management mobility framework for point to point radio communication in wireless networks

In this paper the authors present the results of an implementation prototype based on previous concepts studies: a novel management mobility framework with functions for built-in verification of configuration changes and for fault tolerant algorithm. Such a mechanism is required to obtain network stability, to prevent the data loss, inadequate changes and to ensure that the moving entity stays connected in case of the mobility of a dynamic and busy wireless network environment. The scope of this paper is to propose a proof of concept study in order to demonstrate the reliability and the superiority of the new architecture when compared to the traditional peer-to-peer (P2P) model, to evaluate the effects of the novel framework. The paper deal with the implementation of the algorithms for fault tolerant and functions for update the network configuration against all unexpected changes. The advantage of this approach is that the faults rate are extremely decreased, the flow of data is constant, time is saved, the client performance is increased and the server load is reduced. The mobility framework is implemented in Java using OMNET++ as a simulation environment.
