Economic Advantages in Proper Balancing of Phases in Street Lighting Design

This document presents a study regarding the importance of balancing the phases properly in a three-phase 400 V.a.c. network with single phase consumers. The practical part of the paper has two case studies: one in which we present different arrangements for a circuit of fifteen lamps and calculate the losses, and one in which we consider Oradea city network and calculate the energy loss and costs generated in one year for the arrangements presented in case study one.
