A novel broadband dual-polarized base station antenna is proposed in this paper, which consists of two pairs of dipoles, feeding connectors and a special designed balun (also being a supporter). The proposed antenna attains a bandwidth of 41% operating over 3.3-5.0 GHz for return loss greater than 15 dB. The half power beam width is 70±5° in horizontal plane, as well as in vertical plane and the maximum isolation between ports is greater than 32 dB. In addition, the antenna achieves a stable gain of around 8 dBi over the operating band. The antenna structure and simulation results are provided in this paper. All these features ensure the proposed antenna suitable for the 5G mobile communications.
