Development of Simplified Model of Atrioventricular Node with Dual Pathway

We are developing simplified MATLAB/Simulink model of cardiac atrioventricular node taking into account dual conduction pathway which is based on heterogeneous nonlinear differential equations, in particular, Aliev-Panfilov type equations for fast and slow pathways. The model is a part of our oscillator model of cardiac conduction system developed previously which is able demonstrating various normal and pathological situations of cardiac electrical activity generating physiologically correct ECG signals. In this work we present current status of the model development. Simplified description of sinus and atrioventricular nodes is of special interest for the development of hardware system for implantable pacemaker/defibrillator software testing, as well as for educational and research purposes.
