We investigated the radiation characteristics of an optically transparent half-wavelength dipole antenna in microwave bands. An optically transparent dipole antenna using CVD monolayer graphene was fabricated. The operational frequencies of the Au and graphene antenna were 9.5 and 21.6 GHz although the sizes of the antennas were the same. The measured electric field in the near field and radiation patterns showed that the fabricated graphene antenna operated as a half-wavelength dipole antenna. Despite the low conductivity of graphene, the gain of the graphene antenna was 1 dB higher than that of the Au antenna.
