A Cross Dipole Antenna Array in LTCC for Satellite Communication

摘要

A 4×4 antenna array operating in 26.5~31 GHz is designed with the low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) technology for satellite communication. The left-handed circular polarization is provided by cross dipoles fed with 90° phase difference for their two linear polarizations. For each channel including 1×4 subarray fed by a stripline structure, the in-band return loss is larger than 11 dB. The mutual coupling among four channels is lower than −16 dB. The peak realized gain of the 4×4 array is 14.7 dBi. A scanning angle of 100° is achieved with only 2.5 dB gain reduction and axial ratio less than 3 dB.
