In this paper, we introduce a new scalable set of statistic features that achieve performance similar to that achieved when using mean absolute error (MAE) but with computational complexity reduced by a factor of 3 or 4. We first determine the statistic features for a group of pixels by calculating the mean values of pixel intensities horizontally and vertically and then we use these features for block matching when estimating the motion vectors.
