This paper presents the design of a bio-inspired patch antenna array model generated by polar transformation. The use of dissimilar elements was applied for bandwidth increasing purpose. The four-leaf clover geometry is chosen due to its reliable and simple design. The polar transformation makes accurate and repeatable antenna designs. The array prototype is designed for applications in wireless communication systems in the frequency band of 2.45 GHz. The Ansoft Designer® software is used for simulation design and a vector network analyzer (VNA) is used for the experimental characterization. The experimental and simulated results show good agreement. The prototype array presents BW = 81 MHz, and a simulated maximum gain of 8.24 dBi.
