Differences in Reporting between the National Emissions Inventory and the Toxics Release Inventory

Comparing different emissions values between the NEI and the TRI databases show the potential for errors in data reporting. Both databases may have imperfections since the data they provide are emissions estimates but at the same time they also allow for insight to how errors can occur. By identifying the causes of these errors and then implementing steps to prevent said errors from occurring again, we can improve the accuracy of future emission reports.
