WELCOME FROM THE CHAIR

Welcome to Waikoloa, Hawaii, USA for a new era of Service to the Pressure Vessels and Piping Industry and Academia. After leading the advancement of the Pressure Vessels, and Piping Industry for the last 50 years, the ASME-PVP Division is starting its new era of services. The ASME-PVP 2017 Conference is an outstanding international technical forum for participants to further their knowledge in a variety of topics related to Pressure Vessel and Piping technologies for the Power and Process Industries. The conference covers more than 660 technical papers plus over 80 presentations that are arranged in more than 225 paper and panel sessions. Two special tutorials and an early career special forum are given. A special Early Career and Women Engineers Welcome reception is held on Sunday evening. This conference contains four technical tutorials, a Technology Demonstration Forum, and the 25th Rudy Scavuzzo Student Paper Symposium and Competition. Professors Stewart Williams and Thomas R. Kurfess present some of the latest developments in the PVP technologies. After the success of the EPRI workshop in PVP 2016, EPRI organized another special workshop in 2017 on "Dissimilar Welds in High Temperature Applications".
