A Study of the Differences in Regional Cultures Shown in the Arcade Architecture in Guangxi

By exploring the basic characteristics of the arcade architecture in Guangxi from the perspectives of its historical background, geographical distribution, and common characteristics, the paper is intended to discuss the multiple factors that influenced the formation and the diversity of arcade architecture in Guangxi. These include the coerciveness of government control, the spontaneity of local system, the stimulation of commercial awareness, and the inheritance of traditional ideology. To conclude, the regional cultural differences of the arcade architecture in Guangxi are fundamentally rooted in the dual impact of the "bottom-up" driving force and "top-down" governing force.
