With considering an infrastructure system, this paper aimed to analyze the value of a staged deployed strategy in space logistics. The idea for this strategy is using the previous deployed stages to support the deployment after that. An analytical model for space logistics mission planning is built considering linear infrastructure model and spacecraft designing model. With this analytical model, we are able to predict the initial mass at low-Earth orbit (IMLEO) we need for the mission and the optimal number of stages which will achieve the lowest cost for the mission. The result from network flow model1 validates the prediction from analytical model. Particularly, the paper concentrate on analyzing how spacecraft design limited the performance of staged deployment With considering spacecraft design in the system, we are able to make relative accurate prediction for IMLEO and optimal number of stages without dealing with the complex network flow model, which is useful to guide the space mission planning considering multi-stage deployment.
