Hazard function modelling of the composites reinforced by natural fibres for safety, security and defence applications

At present technical systems are very complex, thereby requiring the application of relevant new technologies. Composite materials, then, seem to be an adequate option. These materials are basically laminates made of a matrix and a binder (resin). Considering their quality properties, we still have not reliable information about their dependability. In our article, therefore, we deal with evaluating specific climatic tests of composites. The tested composites were tested in several climatic ranges and then mechanical tests were performed. The results are in the form of a data set used for estimating essential reliability measures. The composites are considered to be a nonrepairable item. As for our composites, we estimate a probability density function, a distribution function, and mainly a hazard function applying parametric and nonparametric methods. The nonparametric estimations of a hazard function are also connected with asymptotic confidence intervals.
