The Study of Geocenter Motion in Different Ocean Tide Loading Model

Geocenter motion (GM) describes the difference of CF (Center of Figure) respect to CM (Center of Mass of the Earth System) due to the re-distribution and deformation of the earth system. In addition, the ocean tide loading, which is because of the gravitational forces exerted by the Moon and the Sun, leads to geocenter's non-seasonal periodic motion, and it is in-negligible. To understand the geocenter motions of year 2015, this study used the Global Positioning System (GPS) observation data of International GNSS Service (IGS) station, which are evenly distributed globally, and applied two different global ocean tide models, i.e. FES2004 and NA099b, using software Bernese 5.2. The results show that the geocenter motions affected by ocean tide loading are approximately 1 cm in maximum, and the motions in Y Component are much bigger than in X Component and Z Component.
