With increasing energy demand and the ever looming threat of global climate change, renewable energy, especially wind energy, is a recurring solution. Although wind energy faces challenges of efficiency and durability, insect wings can serve as an example for wind turbine structures that may increase energy harvesting efficacy. This paper illustrates how two designs, one inspired by the cicada, bee, and wasp, and the other by the mosquito and fly, both have the potential to yield higher energy outputs, achieving a higher rotation per minute value than the control counterpart. However, the traditional control design was still more durable, indicating that additional fine-tuning is required to achieve optimal designs.
