The role of electric buses (EBs) in public transit is key to reduce city pollution and greenhouse gas emissions and therefore global warming. To design a cost effective, energy efficient, sustainable EBs fleet, the EB batteries and the charging infrastructure must be correctly selected. The high performance and reasonable cost of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries position this technology as an interesting alternative for using in EBs. However, the significant influence of cycling profiles in battery performance and lifetime, make necessary to analyze LFP behavior under e-mobility requirements. For this reason, in this paper is analyzed the LFP battery aging under different cycling profiles that includes fast charging and regenerative braking.
