Novel compact design of 1200Sectoral microstrip antenna derived from circular microstrip antenna is discussed. In 1200 MHz frequency range, it yields more than 600 MHz (>45%) of bandwidth with peak gain of 8.5 dBi. This bandwidth is larger as compared to that of the circular patch and its slot cut variation. Further to enhance its bandwidth and gain, various gap-coupled variations of 1200Sectoral microstrip antennas are proposed. Its gap-coupled variations along two co-ordinate axes yields bandwidth of more than 800 MHz (~60%) with peak antenna gain of nearly 10 dBi.
