Electric power systems deteriorate with aging while using. Partial discharge (PD) is one of the main factors in electric power system degradation. PD characteristics such as the maximum apparent discharge magnitude (qmax), discharge occurrence frequency (n), pulse mean Φ-q distribution, and Φ-n distribution are important for analyzing the PD phenomenon. This time, PD was generated in the insulation using IEC (b) electrode and its characteristics were analyzed. As a result, the phase angle at which discharge occurs does not depend on frequency and voltage application time, but there was no constant trend in the magnitude of discharge.
