In this paper, based on the PEA equipment in our laboratory, the attenuation and dispersion of charge acoustic signals in the flat XLPE samples with the different thicknesses and under the different nanosecond pulse widths were studied through experiments and simulations. Then, through the extraction and extension of attenuation and dispersion coefficients of acoustic wave under different pulse frequencies, the frequency band “window” was built for simulating the charge acoustic signals in a flat XLPE sample with arbitrary thicknesses and under arbitrary pulse widths. Finally, the charge acoustic signals in the coaxial cable can be deduced by introducing a “correction coefficient” of coaxial structure.
