Environmental motivations behind Individuals' Energy Eciency Behaviour: Evidence from Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium

The residential sector accounts for approximately 20% ofworldwide energy consumption and is responsible for 17% ofglobal CO2 emissions (Nejat et al., 2015).Households constitute an important target group for energyconservation.Motivations that lead households to adopt energy conservationbehaviour are very complex and need to be analysed.The present study investigates the impact of environmentalmotivations behind various kinds of energy saving activities inGermany, the Netherlands and Belgium.
