In the present work, computational investigation was performed on a gasoline/air PDEwith and without baffle plates. The size of baffle plate was varied in order to investigatethe effects on the characteristics of flow field from the exit of PDE. The conservationelement/solution element (CE/SE) method using adaptable unstructured meshes wasderived and applied to calculate the inner and outer flow fields of multi-cycle two-phasePDE with and without baffle plate. The computational results of inner and outer flowfield show the effects of baffle plate on the shock wave propagation.The existence ofbaffle plate can reduce the upstream pressure disturbance of PDE. It’s beneficial for theprotection of the key composition of PDE.
