Analytical Solution of Critical Speed for Surf-Riding in the light of Melnikov Analysis

When the thrust coefficient is represented as a quadratic polynomial, the surf-riding threshold requested for the intact stability criteria in the IMO could be analytically obtained. This can be exactly proved with a quadratic approximation of calm water resistance and empirically verified with its quantic approximation.
