Recently, there are high interests in using Ethernet for in-car network, but the communication quality of highspeed Ethernet does not yet meet the requirements. In this report, we examine the influence of pulse disturbance on the communication quality when the disturbance penetrates the signal line of 100BASE-TX. We first argue that imbalance of the signal transmission system affects the communication quality because it causes conversion of disturbances from the common mode to the differential mode. We also investigate the relation between parameters of pulse disturbance and the communication quality to reveal how the disturbance actually affects.
