The Importance of Human Factors as it Relates to the Design of Launch Facilities

This paper introduces the experience with design work and end results located at NASA Kennedy Space Center and identify human factors concerns as case studies. The case studies overview various projects at the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) and Launch Complex 39 Pad B. The focus is on the transition from academia with the use of human factors and how it is incorporated or perceived in professional practice.
