This paper presents an innovative autonomous navigation scheme based on information fusion for spacecraft orbiting Mars using observations of Phobos and Deimos. The optimal fusion (OF) algorithm and the covariance intersection (CI) fusion algorithm are then applied to solve the information fusion problem of multiple subsystems which are all cross-correlation. Simulation results demonstrate the superiority that the OF algorithm and the CI fusion algorithm have in handling the fusion problem with cross-correlation noise compared with Federated Filter.
