Aiming at the high radioactivity of the RPV flange during regular refueling outage, the automatic inspection equipment is designed to detect defects on the thread surface of main stud holes. Based on analyzing the functional requirements and technical index, the general design scheme and system configuration are presented, and the key technology of image acquisition and processing and positioning is researched. Then this paper analyzes the functional requirement, and put forward detailed structure and control system. Finally, the inspection equipment has been supplied to NPPS successfully, the results prove that RPV stud holes inspection equipment based on array image acquisition can realize synchronized image acquisition of the stud holes, real-time display and storage of high resolution video with high automation and efficiency, and the defect can be accurately located, then reduce the radiation exposure greatly.
