Research on coupling relation between resource utilization patterns and rural resident livelihood — A case study of Wuzhufeng village in Guizhou province of China

Nowadays, drastically reduced resources and unreasonable resource utilization has resulted in the intensification of the contradiction between supply and demand. Based on relevant studies, this study investigates the relationship between resource utilization patterns and the livelihood of the rural peasants. This study employs AHP to fix the weight and tries to construct a coupling model of the two. The model is then employed to analyse the example: Wuzhufeng village. The results show that it is on a low degree coupling stage between resource utilization patterns and rural resident livelihood. The trend of same direction of the two is not obvious. According to an analysis of the reasons, four countermeasures have been put forward. The coupling model was used to analyse the coupling relationship in Wuzhufeng village and verified that the model is effective and feasible in the evaluating process. The model provides a good platform for future research.
