Single-compound reference materials with as close to ambient levels as possible are successfully generated on PTFE filters for Al, S, Cl, K, Ti, Fe, Cu, Zn and Pb . Gravimetric measurements, purity of material, and stoichiometry were utilized to determine the reference loadings on RMs. The EDXRF results are within 10% of the reference loadings with few exceptions. The absolute difference between EDXRF and reference remained within uncertainty for the most of the generated RMs for all elements with few exceptions. The random variability of Pb-RMs and disagreement between gravimetric and EDXRF loadings for CuSO_4 need further testing Storage under refrigeration and multiple XRF analysis of generated RMs do not alter them, confirming their long term stability. These materials can be utilized for calibration or/and quality control of XRF analyzers.
