In this work, hetero structure based two Channel Add Drop Filter (ADF) is presented which can drop two channel at particular place. ADF is used in wavelength multiplexing systems, which is important component for forthcoming optical networks and Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs). Designed structure is comprised of Two Dimensional (2D) Photonic Crystal Ring Resonators (PCRR) with two distinct refractive index values. Filter is consist of Si rods placed in air background; proposed in square lattice. Designed structure has a photonic Band Gap (PBG); which is computed using Plane Wave Expansion method (PWE). Channels centered at 1513 nm and 1550 nm are dropped by this hetero structure based Channel Add Drop Filter (ADF). The filter properties like coupling efficiency, resonant wavelength are analyzed theoretically using 2D Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) method.
