With the development of modern military technology, the technical level and application requirements of target tracking turntable are also getting higher and higher, high precision and large scale have become the inevitable trend of its development. In this paper, according to the performance test of the infrared seeker servo mechanism, a large target tracking platform is designed. Firstly, the target tracking turntable's 3D assembling model is established in UG by applying the design ideology of Top-Down, and the idealized finite element model of turntable is established by dealing with simplification and equivalent processing to the bearing, the motor and other key components of the turntable according to its mechanical and structural characteristic. On the basis of the idealized finite element model of turntable, the static finite element analysis and mode analysis of the turntable and its components key are carried out. As a consequent, a series of structural parameters of the turntable are obtained, such as the deformation and stress distribution of the turntable under the maximum load, the natural frequency, amplitude and the modal shape of the turntable, what can indicate that the structure design of target tracking turntable satisfies the requirement of specifications.
