In order to improve the power quality of shipboard power system (SPS), this paper proposes a new power supply system based on a rectifier transformer with integrated linear filtering reactors. Due to the reactors for filters are integrated into the rectifier transformer, the installed space for the filters can be reduced greatly. First, the topology of the proposed power supply is introduced and then, the principle of integrating the linear reactors into the transformer is presented. Furthermore, the operating mechanism for implementing the inductive filtering method is presented. Finally, the simulation and the experimental results validate the proposed power supply system and indicate that it can greatly reduce the harmonic currents at the source side, can improve the power factor effectively, and can reduce the noise of the rectifier transformer in SPS.
