Inclusion of metallic nanoparticles in solar cells increases their efficiency via enhanced absorption due to light scattering, as well as localized surface plasmons generation. To the best of our knowledge, the dominant role of either mechanism has only been determined in simulations. We have developed a way to verify this experimentally.
