Xenon gamma-ray spectrometer for monitoring of ~(222)Rn concentration by means of measurement of its daughter nuclei gamma-ray emission intensity and the main characteristics of this device are presented. Time variations of radon concentration can be interpreted as possible precursors of the Earth's seismic activity, such as an earthquake, several days prior to these events. The results of the first experiments that were carried out in the Caucasus region of Russia show the possibility of using the described xenon gamma-ray spectrometer for this task.
